Ruby's superb new Gospel Album was released in September 2009 to widespread acclaim and received a series of very positive reviews. The Album features 14 Songs, including one very special hymn that Ruby recorded as a duet with her mother Violetta. This from Ruby :

Dear Listener : I have always loved Gospel Music but this new Album is the result of a chance encounter with two particular Gospel CD's. Spotted in the boot of a friends car, I borrowed them, played and replayed them as I travelled the highways and by-ways of Britain while touring with Jools Holland and his Rhythm and Blues Orchestra.

Listening to the recordings I was moved by an overwhelming spiritula experience and I felt compelled to record an album of these inspirational songs myself. What followed was 6 days of getting down to the bone and back to my early days in the Pentecostal Church.

I understood through the voices of those pioneers of Gospel Music that when things get tough, you lean on your faith. And so, for The Swan Silvertones, Sister Rosetta Tharpe, The Original Five Blind Boys of Alabama, The Soul Stirrers, Brother Joe May and the Pilgrim Travelers, Johnny Taylor, The Five Blind Boys of Mississippi and Dorothy Love Coats & The Original Gospel Harmonettes ........
